Chat GPT and other Artificial Intelligence (AI) Content Creation Tools

There's been a lot of talk about artificial intelligence recently and ChatGPT in particular. So what is it and is it as good as people are making out?

What is ChatGPT?

Essentially, ChatGPT is capable of writing articles for you. In theory this means that you no longer need to employ a writer. It generates articles within seconds at virtually no cost.

You tell ChatGPT what you want and it provides that for you. You might ask it to write a "top ten power drills" article and it'll give you an article listing the top ten power drills.

It does this by searching the web for the information it needs. In many ways, that's no different to what a writer would do because they'd also be doing a lot of web-based research if they were writing an article.

What Are the Problems?

ChatGPT doesn't sense check the information it uses to create its articles. Usually it's fairly accurate, but occasionally it will use incorrect information; the Internet is full of fake news.

It can also create articles that are a bit lacking in emotion. That's potentially not an issue if you're just looking for clicks and want to boost your SEO ranking because you can create hundreds of articles in a short space of time.

But those articles might not necessarily be ones that actual humans want to read. To continue with the power drill example, for instance, ChatGPT will create an article telling you which is the most popular power drill, but it'll be selling the steak rather than the sizzle.

In other words, ChatGPT is a great way to generate articles for your website but those articles might not necessarily convert your website visitors into customers.

Should You Use ChatGPT?

There's no question that ChatGPT is a powerful tool. It creates human-readable articles that are mostly factually correct. If you just want to create loads of content on the cheap, it's the way forward.

If you want quality content, though, ChatGPT needs to be used carefully. It's worth getting a professional writer to fact check the article that ChatGPT has generated and possibly edit it to make it sound a bit more interesting.
